Sources of Happiness

On the surface, it seems like a fairly obvious observation that happiness and pleasure are two different things.  And yet, we human beings are often quite adept at confusing the two.
“True happiness relates more to the mind and heart. Happiness that depends mainly on physical pleasure is unstable; one day it’s there, the next day it may not be.”

Learning is one of the longest lasting pleasures. My mother used to say “An education cannot be taken from you once you have it.” As the Dalai Lama said, “Learning is the best pleasure. In comparison, all the rest are like pouring cold water on a boil.” Learning and questioning are at the heart of all eighty-four thousand different kinds of teaching.

I am learning me each day and i find happiness is wanting what i have and not having what i want. The more i follow The Way the grand scheme of things takes me the more i realize that the Great Out Doors fills the void in my heart and that my friends family and partner is the mold around the fillings!!!

I feel better outside too. Sometimes I think the humming bird that comes to my back yard once a year is my mother.
