  1. Chase says:

I live at the edge of a desert. Each morning, as I walk my dog, we etch our footprints in the sand by our passing. Each day, the wind scours the Earth clean of our passing. In this way, I am reminded of the Moment. In this way, I am reminded to be Present.

Thank you for the image of impermanence, which I will pass along to a cat-lover friend or two.

  2. Thank you for posting this simple cartoon. I just stumbled across this site and this cartoon at the most needed moment. Yesterday I took a stray mother cat and her two baby kittens to a nearby shelter. I had been feeding and playing with them every day since I discovered them in my backyard two weeks ago. Unfortunately, due to severe allergies I was not able to adopt them myself so I made the heart wrenching decision to take them to a shelter that I thought would have a foster home available for them. I didn’t ask enough questions though and by the end of the day they had euthanized all of them. I have been crying for the past 18 hours. I would give anything to have them back – allergic or not. But now all I can do is make peace with it. This simple cartoon helps calm and remind me to call upon my beliefs to pull me through and mend my broken heart. Thank you.

  3. Although we all make mistakes, are filled with regret, and upset with what was done at times we must remember to forgive ourselves, especially when things happen that are beyond our control. Just as you gave that love and affection to that mother and family, “You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” (Buddha). I am glad to hear this cartoon helped calm your senses, and wish you the best!
