Item of The Week: Thangkas

Namaste

B103

This week we are featuring Thangkas as our item of the week.  The tibetan word thangka means flat, the name then for these objects seems fairly self-explainatory, and the process which goes into creating these exquisite pieces has been handed down for hundreds and hundreds of years.  Those which we have for sale have been made in this tradition by skilled artisans of the Himalayan mountains (more specifically for the products from Art of Tibet, Nepal).

These paintings are gorgeous visual representations of a multitude of ideas, concepts and interwoven teachings of the dharma meant to be used as meditation aides.  Check back with us this week for moreexamples of thangkas which we have for sale as well as more information concerning these stunning creations.
