"The effects of karma (actions) are inevitable... Just as someone witnessed by police in a criminal act will eventually be caught and punished, so we too must face the consequences of faulty actions we have committed in the past, there is no way to be at ease; those actions are irreversible; we must eventually undergo their effects." His Holiness the Dalai Lama, from 'Kindness, Clarity and Insight'
If more people believed in the law of karma, we would never need a police force or peace treaties. But without an inner conviction that nobody can escape the consequences of their actions, even if we employ many types of external means in order to enforce the law, we will never be able to build a peaceful society… If human society is to improve, it is not enough to enforce external laws. We need to have recourse to our inner judge. _H.H. Dalai Lama
THE 4 LAWS OF KARMA
1. Actions produce related results: You reap what you sow. Your intentions are important. Negative actions bring suffering. Positive actions bring happiness.
2. Nothing arises without cause: Your life fits you like a glove. Do not blame others for your problems. Every experience comes from past actions. Understanding karma means taking full responsibility for your life!
3. Karma expands: The apple seed grows into a tree which gives many apples. Small negative actions may give rise to extensive suffering and small positive actions may give rise to extensive happiness. Therefore, we need to be very mindful of all our actions.
4. Once an action is done, the result is never lost: Nothing just disappears. Still, positive karma can be prevented from ripening by one moment of anger and negative karma can be prevented from ripening by simple purifications. We cannot eliminate problems, but we can eliminate our negative reactions.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
If you plant corn, you don’t get cucumbers.
When you are cruel to others, what results can you expect?
When you are good to others, what results can you expect?
