Daily Dharma Quote: On Peace

A Reason for Peace

Is it because last weekend was the fortieth anniversary of the concert to end all concerts, Woodstock?  Is it because yesterday I began fasting for Ramadan?  Is it because I just watched a half hour of BBC America world news?  Is it because as I write this, I can feel my puppy’s heavy breathing as he sleeps on my lap?  For whatever reason, I’ve got peace on the brain…Everyone’s got a reason for peace: to wish for it, to make it, to be it and to give it away.  What’s your reason?

“Peace is not something you wish for; it’s something you make, something you do, something you are and something you give away.”

~ Robert Fulghum
