Daily Dharma Quote on Anger

As we have talked about, Anger is one of the hardest mental afflictions, or Kleshas, to over come. Because of this I feel we can not mention it enough which is why I chose this quote for today’s Daily Dharma

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

It seems that the tricky thing with emotions like anger and resentment, is that we fool ourselves into thinking they make us feel better. It is only when we find another, more positive outlet for all of that intense energy that we see the benefits of embracing love or proactive means of improving our state of being. (selfless acts of kindness, changing our perspective, etc.)
